This was an amazing and eye-opening read for me, giving me some well needed knowledge about the history behind the Israeli-Palestinian dilemma. This was not a book to be zipped through...i needed to slowly absorb it so that i could fully come to understand historical events that i was oblivious to. There is a solid reason why the conflict in the Middle East exists...both sides have valid and heart breaking points to make...and how DO they solve that?...i have no idea. I'll never again listen in absence, i'll never again ignore words that i read about these two different groups of people, who are so similar in so many ways. The author was fantastically skilled at showing me two sides of the same world...such as Ramla through Israeli eyes opposite al-Ramla through Arabic eyes. Sometimes ignorance is not bliss.
