I was a little disappointed in Sheri S. Tepper with this one. I didn't feel like Plague of Angels needed a sequel, and this novel seems like a rehashing of ideas from other previous works. I love Abasio as a character, and it was still an interesting read, but I wanted something that didn't feel as if I had already it. That being said, it's still an enoyable book. My advice to those who keep reading Tepper's works expecting to be disappointed is stop reading her works. If you start out with the mindset that you're not going to enjoy it, then you won't. Self-fulfilling prophecy, etc. I find the works of Kevin J Anderson to be heavy-handed and puerile, so I don't read his novels!
