The Secret Circle: The Initiation and The Captive Part I (The Secret Circle, #1-2)

I was very excited when I bought this book to finally read something that wasn't based on vampires or werewolves. It was somewhat disappointing that this book didn't go into as much detail about witches as the 3rd and 4th book. I liked that Cassie wasn't vain but her weakness was very annoying. She was a HUGE pushover and her decisions to help Faye were ridiculous. If she cared that much about Diana she would have just told her.
One thing that really bothers me about this author is that when she originally wrote this series she broke then up into 4! Are you kidding me!!? I would have been very pissed, they don't even come to a decent cliffhanger it was just severed. By the time the next book came out I would have forgotten the previous. There just wouldn't have been enough to keep me excited for the next. It just seems like a very cheap way to get money..
OVERALL I would recommend this book just to get to the Captive Part 2 and the Power. Its worth buying. Also, it is a pretty good mystery book that has a purpose other than "girl wants boy she can't have"
