False Mermaid digs a little deeper into Nora Gavin's relationships with colleagues, friends, and family and solves the five-year-old cold case surrounding her sister's death. Nora's quest takes her from Ireland to St. Paul, MN and back to Ireland again and intertwines the ancient stories of the selkies (seals) with another 100-yr old mystery as well as her own. As the details are revealed and you think you have the answer firmly in your grasp, the story line twists away from you and weaves itself into a Celtic knot of ingenious complexity.
I have 'read' all of Erin Hart's novels via audiobook and enjoyed them immensely. The Irish lilt of narrator Roslyn Landor transports listeners to the misty shores of the emerald isle and beyond as Nora digs deeper and deeper into the past to find the truth.
