Julie was only seven years old when her Mother passed away. She and her brother, Chris, where sent off to live with their Aunt Cordelia. Julie goes from childhood to teenhood and learns much along the way.

This book was actually quite wonderful. I found it at my local library and thought it looked interesting. I'm very glad I picked this up and actually wish I had read it when I was a teenager. It was sort of like reading a diary of someone's life. Julie went through so many emotions. There were times she was hurt, ashamed of herself for something, she was sad, happy and even fell in love. I felt like I could relate to her so much.
Growing up can be hard, it can be confusing and Julie even encountered that. But she had a family that was always there for her and I thought that was wonderful.
Aunt Cordelia could sometimes be too stricts about certain things, but she was a character I really loved. I wish I had a Aunt like her. She and Julie ended up becoming so close and I thought that was great. It makes me wish I had that with one of my Aunts.
Julie's Uncle was . . . . Well, different, but there were times that I really liked him as well. He was not perfect and maybe not even a good role model, but I believe he had good in him and it did show at times.

It was a wonderful book. There were times I cried, smiled, laughed, felt sad and happy. This book was basically about a girl growing up and I really enjoyed it.
