I loved it! From begginig to end I just couldn't put it down. Alice was the bravest heroine I have ever read about. LOL. I really didn't care much for 'I Thee Wed', the first book I've read by Amanda Quick, so when I got to this one I was ready to suffer again... and what a delightful surprise it was. I fell for the hero at once! So dark and charming! (he wasn't handsome, but she was attracted to his kindness and honor nonetheless). The heroine had a very abrasive tongue, but I'm a feminist at heart, so I ALWAYS agreed with everything she said. LOL I'm not sure if they're the sort of thing a woman woud say at that time period, but I don't mind. I liked her for saying it and LOVED him for backing her up.
