11/8/11...update. I finished the book!!

8/24/11 update at bottom!!!!

Do you know what I love about these books? They come out about every six months!!! That's a pretty short time considering how long you have to wait for SOME books.
another thing I love about these books: there SSSOOOO many of them!!! I mean this is the eleventh book!!! Seriously??? And they NEVER get boring, even though it's pretty much just the same things happening in every book, it's SSSOOO exciting.
And for once I seriously love the protagonist. A lot of time authors make their main characters really hard to like, but I love claire. She's different :D

Update 11/8/11:
So, this time I finished the book. I actually finished it a couple days ago, but it's taken me a little while to get around to writing the review. I actually have a couple books I need to review...

So, this book was different. I can't exactly put my finger on it, it wasn't the writing. It was like the mood. It was different.

Everyone knows I love these books, but now I'm honestly just REEEALLY curious. Because, here I am putting my finger on that mood I was feeling, it was like hopelessness. They kind of had hope at the end, but throughout the book the feeling I kept getting was that everything was sort of coming to an end.
Which isn't true, there are going to be fifteen books apparently. So, I'm just curious.

Um, so, the characters are all there still. Everyones the same, they've got new problems though. And, there really wasn't a clif-hanger like a lot of people seemed to be wondering, you just really don't know what's going on by the end of the book.

So, I've read all the books up to this one and I haven't been dissapointed yet. Expect in the one where they go to dallas or wherever they were heading, that one was signifantly more boring than the others. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next four books, not that i'm looknig forward to the waiting

Quotes Hannah-Linn Liked

Rachel Caine
“What did I do?" he said. "Cake! It's cake! Delicious cake!”
Rachel Caine, Last Breath

Rachel Caine
“He let Shane drop back down in his chair, and walked out, back stiff. Furious.

Shane sat with his hands clutching at the armrests. He exchanged a stunned look with Eve, and they both stood up at once. "No," Shane said. "I did it. Let me fix it."

He went off after Michael. Eve chewed her lip and said, "Well, we're either going to see half the house destroyed, or their bromance is going to go all the way.”

Frankie I love the fact that there's so many of them as well, and it does feel like there always coming out, but at the same time I don't always have the enough money to get them.
Another get thing about rachel caine is she releases her book covers straight away as well.(and there alway brillent, at least the bristsh ones are).

Hannah-Linn i know, i just love everything about these books :)

Sezzy I can't believe there's only supposed to be one more after this one! :( I'm just reading Bite Club now, and I bet Rachel leaves it on a cliff-hanger! lol :)

Hannah-Linn Well I'm not going to give anything away...but I love these books. I've said before that I wish they just kept going and going and going, but all good things must come to an end.

Merita Is there really only one more after this one? Noooo :(

Hannah-Linn yeah, there's going to be twelve book total. It makes me depressed to just think about it.

Merita Oh im sad now :( they are such good books. Throughout the whole series it just keeps you wanting more and you just cant stop. I absolutely love them!

Hannah-Linn I know! I can't really put my finger on what's so good about it...it just....IS. I love the plot and the characters and everything.

Merita Thats exactly how i feel lol

Sezzy I couldn't agree more :)

Frankie I don't see how it going to end, the stories are so different and its hard to see the conflict betwwen the vamps and humans being resolved any time soon.

Suz Does this one end on a cliff hanger (like 50% of the previous ones)?

Frankie Suz wrote: "Does this one end on a cliff hanger (like 50% of the previous ones)?"

Most likely considering its the second to last book.

Sezzy Actually, that's not true anymore....
If you look at this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_C...
You can see that there will be 15 books in the series.
If you are on Facebook, here's a link to her offical page saying the same thing.

Hannah-Linn 15 books?? That's amazing! I did read...somewhere...that there were supposed to be 12 books, but Rachel Caine would be open to continuing the series...and I supposed she is :)

Suz That's disappointing. I had just responded to an early reviewer stating it (Last Breath) did not end on a cliff hanger and had considered reading it given it was supposed to be second to last. But if Ms. Caine has contracted for three more then I'll wait until the series is over before I bother. I really hate cliff hangers and Ms. Caine has stated flat out that she does it because "it lends excitement and keeps people coming back." I find cliff hangers as blatant marketing tactics rather distasteful, and will wait until I can get it all back to back (by then at reduced prices).

Either way, thanks for the response.

Frankie 15 yay! I hope at the end she decides to make more, but really how many times can the town almost be destroyed.

Suz There are over 20 in the Anita Blake series, the Dark (Carpathian) series, the Dark-Hunter series. Two out of three of those are Paranormal Romance with Anita Blake being the only Urban Fantasy, and none of them are young adult, though. But really, how much teen angst can a reader stand?

Sezzy Well, you're a teenager for 7 years... That's a lot of angst! ;)

Hannah-Linn Ha! Aint that the truth..

message 21: by Suz (new) - added it

Suz I think I skipped right over my teen years. I was 12 and then I was 20.

Hannah-Linn haha. Everything was all a blur.

Suz I'm almost 50 now, it was so long ago I don't recall.

Jennifer Line I also like the frequency of their publication. What is nice is, even though the come out every 6 months, she maintains the quality. I'm over 30 & I really enjoy this series. You can relate to them well. It also gives me something to talk about w/my cousin's 16 year old daughter. You posted an excellent review. Thank you. :)

Hannah-Linn That's a good point. There's a lot to talk about.

Meaghan R. (YA-aholic) i also love how fast the following books come out...not really a fan of having to wait a year for the next books...
