This book is one of my daughter Lauren's favorites, and we got to meet the author last night! She is an Iowan and truly a warm and lovely person. I read Lauren's signed copy of the book last night and really enjoyed it. It's a young adult book about a girl who grows up with a shadow over her life - her twin sister drowned at age 3 and her parents split up soon after. Now, at age 13, on the eve of her mother's remarriage, she starts wondering about her missing father. I would say it's actually more of a "tween" book than young adult in terms of the themes and content.
