Very informative book. It's a very refreshing look at the oppressive reign of Nazi Germany. It isn't told from the viewpoint of a Jewish child, but it's still very powerful. I liked the book when I finished it, but I liked it better when I read the afterword. It proved that many of the events in the book were actually non-fiction.

As much as this genre can be hard for young people to read, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. You can learn a lot about the history of the war, but it also is uplifting and hopeful at the same time. The characters are fictitious, but many other things aren't, like I already mentioned.
