A thoughtful and lively book about the humanistic elements of communication that make possible and detract from living a life with others. Although the quick jump between examples and analogies became a little annoying, Christian is able to distill some of the more interesting aspects of human communication and make them available to a wide audience. If you're interested in the more theoretical implications of his quest, I suggest John Durham Peters' Speaking into the Air: A History of the Idea of Communication.
