(Young Adult Horror) Let's face it, I'm not a fan of the horror genre. I can't even stand scary movies. The other two horror/paranormal books I read for class (Twilight and A Certain Slant of Light) were actually quite enjoyable, but this one is not my cup of tea. A Certain Slant of Light was character-driven and Twilight was character and plot driven, but Companions of the Night was primarily plot-driven. When published in 1995, it won many awards, and I suppose the fast-paced plot with lots of action will enchant teens, but it did nothing for me.
