I enjoyed this just as much the second time around, having not read it in several years. It's a beautifully written story that takes you away to a place where you can visualise the amazing kimonos, see the tea houses and feel the bustle and activity of Gion. It's a book that really sweeps you up in it's tale and is an intriguing look into something that is quite foreign to Western culture. I've now reluctantly dragged myself out of Kyoto in the 20's and 30's to move onto something else :-)
