I can’t even imagine what it means to live in an Amish society, devoid of all modern comfort.
It is already hard to resist one forbidden tree; what must it be when you’re surrounded by thousands of those?
At age 17, Ira Wagler sneaked out of his family home to taste the “English” life. From then on he had an ongoing struggle by being pulled back and forth between the familiar and reliable Amish and the more adventurous liberal life style. The hardship of making decisions.
This is a very interesting journey into a coming to age in religion.
