Okay, I find it very difficult to negatively review books as I love, LOVE books and have so much respect for authors. With that said I wasn't happy with Inked Up by Terri Thayer. Now I realize this is the second in a series and I have missed the first book. Unfortunately my reasons for not enjoying this read make me reluctant to tackle the first one. Why? I have real issues with the main character and they are completely personal ones. It seems to me that everyone takes advantage of the main character, treats her as something a little less than everyone else and expects her to bend and adjust to accommodate everyone (this also includes the main character's view of herself). It was difficult reading about someone who mainly thinks in terms of being accommodating. Add in the fact that most of the book seemed to be about the main character and her self-worth issues but not about the mystery made this a low rated read for me. There wasn't any active investigating happening until the last quarter of the book and then it seemed thrown in.
