Read in May, 2011 — I own a copy

Quite enjoyed this after I got used to Hemingway's prose style. Hope to write more about this one later!

Other than a few short stories I've not read Hemingway since high school. I wasn't sure what to expect, I like pared down writing styles, but sparse certainly doesn't mean easy. I can see now why he was thought so modern.

Yes, hahaha, sparse doesn't mean easy. I think the sparing nature of Hemingway's prose reflects life more accurately, where the writer doesn't get in the way with embellishments or interpretations. That's what I've come to appreciate about Hemingway, despite being skeptical, at first, about the hype. And no one ever thought that understanding life was easy :)
