This is the only Preston/Child book I've read so far that isn't an Agent Pendergast novel. I really liked it. It was very fun and exciting and had both science and "adventure". It's a fairly goofy adventure story about a man hired to help find pirate treasure. There's a famous water pit that has protected a horde of treasure for hundreds of years. Some say it's cursed treasure and that the pirate buried it to be rid of the curse. It's fairly predictable. In fact I've read at least two books that have this same curse in them. There, that's vague. But still, it's a fun book. It's a summer action movie in book form, and because it's from Preston/Child it's actually smart. Really smart at points. It might not be the most acurate thing in the world, but it's fun.
