I really enjoyed this book. It was rich in detail, character and mystery. Donoghue bravely takes on the task of narrating the book in the eyes of a five-year-old. It so often reminded me of how narrow (almost annoyingly-so) a five-year-old's view of the world is. You find yourself grasping for more details of the mystery and hoping for the success of the protagonists, but also understanding how disturbing the outside world can be to a young child. The author falters in so few places, it is an amazing success. The plot is rich in emotion and also very suspenseful. I would recommend the book to anyone ready to take a trip well outside of their comfort zone. I was so glad I had done so.
