Aliki Barnstone's translation is fantastic. So much better than Keeley/Sherrard. It's accessible, poetic, and captures Cavafy's love for his cities (modern and historical) and the young men he adored without censorship or shame. I have no knowledge of Greek, so I can't judge Barnstone's technical accuracy, but the reviews lead me to believe she handles Cavafy's particular mix of archaic and modern Greek very well.
