I generally don't read a lot of historical fiction as I like the real material and there is always more of that out there. I'll make an exception for George. Her narration is not design to read like a dumbed down text in the first person omniscient (hey there Jamie Mitchner!), but rather you're getting an account from one of the players. Don't be daunted by the size of the books. They are some of the quickest 700pg reads you have.
