One of the most hilarious, beautifully written books I've read in a while. Good Omens is a masterpiece of a novel; the kind of book you're intimidated to leave a review for, because any words you write will look sloppy and meaningless in comparison to the words you've just read.

Which serves as a good excuse for my current laziness when it comes to reviewing books I adore.

Seriously though, if you're tired of wading through the recent surge of clumsily-written fiction for something worth your time and money, go out and get yourself a copy of Good Omens. You won't be disappointed.

message 1: by Tally (new) - added it

Tally I remember starting it but not finishing. from some reason, I couldn't get into that one. I love most of Pratchett's Discworld novels, and I know Neil Geiman is supposed to be hilarious, but from some reason this book didn't do anything to me. Might have to give it another chance in the future :)

Tally this is really really frustrating - EVERYONE who read this book praises it like you just did, and i couldn't finish it! maybe you need to be in a certain mood to enjoy it, i just didn't, and considering how everyone else seems to love it, it's very irritating. i should give it another go sometime...

Lucy I guess you might have to be in a certain frame of mind to read it, or maybe it just doesn't appeal to everyone. To be honest, I can't remember the frame of mind I was in while reading it - for me, it was one of those stories that makes you completely forget about everything going on around you as you read!
