Fever of the Bone, by Val McDermid, A-minus, a Tony Hill and Carol Jordan mystery, narrated by Gerard Doyle, produced by Recorded Books, downloaded from audible.com.

In this book, Tony and Carol are on the track of an internet predator who finds teenage targets on line, meets them, kills them, doesn’t sexually molest them, but brutally mutilates their bodies after death. Tony, the profiler, must figure out, if sex is not the main object of this predator, what it is, and figure it out in time to stop the ongoing slaughter of teenagers. At the same time, Tony’s father has died and left him an inheritance that includes a house. In reviewing his property he begins to find out things about a father he never knew and to uncover lies his mother told him. This is a good book which is going to propel Tony and Carol forward-just not sure what direction forward will turn out to be yet. This is my favorite McDermid series.
