I read The Catcher in the Rye years ago and enjoyed it, and I read Nine Stories almost as long ago, but I'd always meant to read Salinger's other stories too. The two stories in this book center on a character named Seymour and are told by his younger brother. Seymour is a FASCINATING character, but I wasn't so impressed with the storytelling style itself. I left this one feeling pretty lukewarm.

G-phy Really? It is my favorite! I love the man in the tall black hat.

Jessica I think I'm just not much of a Salinger fan! This review is also from 2005 - you probably noticed I uploaded a TON of old reviews over the weekend - and I actually can't remember this book at all anymore!
