I was really disappointed with this book.. I had read her earlier book, Wicked Plants: The Weed That Killed Lincoln's Mother and Other Botanical Atrocities and I really loved that one. Wicked Plants offered up the plant name and it's uses but also offered many little anecdotes about the plant that made it really interesting and fun.

Wicked Bugs had interesting insects and the writing was good, but it read more like an encyclopedia. It had a chapter on a bug, and told you facts about the bug, facts that you could gather in any insect field guide. I was hoping for it to expand to some humorous stories involving the bug through history, and these were few and far between, and I got bored of the book quickly. It almost felt like I was reading a textbook, and I gave it up.

I know she is trying to continue the success of Wicked Plants by creating a similar type book with a similar look, cover style and title, but this one doesn't quite make it for me.
