I've had this on my "to read" list for a while. I even forgot it was there until I went to the library and saw it on the shelf. This is definitely a girl book. The conflicts are very human, the characters flawed and realistic. At first, the story seemed mediocre - conflicts seemed to be predictably resolved, the quilting metaphor was a little forced and obvious. And then I just enjoyed it for what it is: a harmless feel-good book. No one is a superhero, no one has overwhelming odds to overcome. It's just life. There is nothing offensive in this book, the one extramarital affair in the book is referred to, but we don't "see" anything. A quick uplifting affirmation about the power of friendship - and a satisfying ending.
