Ugh...I feel bad everytime I review a book without reaching the end (which doesn't happen often). But halfway through and I just can't find myself interested. I know so many people that would enjoy this book...but I just feel like everything seems so...forced. Authentic is a word this book lacks for me. I just can't seem to believe it, and yet it's written very realistically. I don't know, I can't put my finger on what this book is missing, but it just hasn't pulled me in.

This book, "Mystic River" is about 3 men who reuinite after a childhood incident that changed their lives. Now as adults, one of their daughters has been found murdered. It does show a lot of insight into what the characters are thinking; and its a nice poor side/rich side story, but it just has some element missing.

I hope that others have pinpointed the missing piece or have found a way to enjoy this book. Me, on the other hand, am forcing myself to move on to a different book. Sorry, "Mystic River". I think I will have to watch the movie to see how it ends! (Wow, I can't believe I just sad that! haha)
