This book eluded me. Maybe I was offput by the cover image and multiple items able to be smartphone scanned. I am too old to feel that sort of thing is "cool" and only found it gimmicky. Perhaps had her novel delivered on its buildup, I might have been swayed to it's coolness, but it was too hollow and undeveloped. She writes well and her idea was interesting but it needed more of everything, except sex. The sexual drama seemed more fitting for present day and yet drawing multiple parallels b/t Josianne and Louisette with Trevor was too annoying and abstract.
Rather than go into an indepth analysis, simply said, in a more skilled writers hands this could have been great. As it was, it was just okay. I cared nothing for any of the characters and felt no interest other than to finish the book and see what unravelled. In the end it was disappointing.
A fast read, my best comment about a mediocre book.
