** spoiler alert ** A thriller that made me cry at the end! Coban's thrillers have intricate twists and turns, and it is usually hard to guess who-done-it and more importantly, why. No second chance has a very sad but emotionally right ending. Everything you think at the beginning of the book gets turned on its ear, including the victim and the villain. Marc Seidel remembers getting shot, and then nothing until he wakes up in the hospital weeks later to find his wife Monica is dead and his infant daughter has been kidnapped. He goes against the kidnappers instructions and calls in the police, and the ransom goes wrong. Marc will never see his daughter again - then gets another note after 18 months - a second chance to find his daughter.
