I didn't think I was going to enjoy this book at first. The childhood that Ceecee has to endure was painful to read about, not so much because of her mentally ill mother but because of her intentionally absent father. I'm glad I chose to read on. This book has so many delightful moments that made me smile, laugh out loud and occasionally shed a tear. I really loved the little nuggets of wisdom provided by the older women in Ceecee's life. Women are strong creatures and Beth Hoffman's book does a great job of reminding us of that.
