At first, I was ready to deem this a crappy sequel, what with Elene being a naggy, whinny, prude. I didn't like her holding Kylar back or him trying to have a normal life. But it got better after the first half. However, I don't think that redeems the book. If I pick up a book, I want it to be good all the way through. I did like the relationship turn though and that will keep me reading the third installment.

Andy How is this series so far?

Chani The first book is awesome. It's like reading Assassin's Creed the video game. The second, meh, must be a transition piece. So, I'm hoping the third one is good. If you're looking for a new and innovated magic/assassin concept, I liked the book Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. Both are kinda similar but the Shadow series has better characters.
