This book had so much potential, and then about two thirds through the second act, it's almost like someone else took over for Rex, and he wanted to wrap everything up in the book as fast as possible. Character turns from likable to a total ass. Plotlines get all screwed up. The humor goes down the drain. Female supporting does something so uncharacteristic that it is jarring and confusing. And the ending was pretty much "Welp, don't know how to end this, so here you go."

A fun story with a distinct voice that is ruined by a terrible climax and third act.

Ashley To compare (and maybe to show how it should have been done), consider reading Christopher Moore's "Bloodsucking Fiends" (or sequels "You Suck" and "Bite Me"). Not that I've read the book you reviewed, however.
