A combination of mystery and romance with an unusual couple at its center.

The story is mostly told from Garrett's point of view, so the male narrator of the audiobook who did a pretty good job, was a good choice. I did not particularly care about the mystery or its resolution, although it was smart and had clues that made sense once everything was revealed. I somehow didn't care either way.

Unfortunately I didn't care all that much about the main couple, either. They were well developed and had plenty of depth and trauma to make them realistic, I just failed to connect with them enough to long for them to be together.

Apart from all that, the story is pretty serious and so are their problems, and perhaps that was one of the reasons why I didn't enjoy this book more - I was in the mood for something more lighthearted.

I'm not sure if I will continue with the series, which has two more books, Never Romance a Rake and Tempted All Night.
