When I first picked up this book to read of my Young Adult Lit. class I thought "oh great a histroy book" but as I began it, right from the begining I was hooked! I really loved reading about Claudette Colvin and all that she went through in her life. Not only that but the other history they gave on the American people of both black and white races was interesting to read about as well. I liked this book a lot because I really got to know Claudette and her personal life. Also it was interesting to actually feel how black people may have felt in that time. It is sad to me that it even happened but i'm glad i read about it so I can help others understand the importance of equality in the United States. If was a fast read but if you hate history you may not enjoy this book so much, but I really liked it!
