Read from June 11 to July 02, 2012

The book was tedious as it started. You felt predictably sorry for the 12 year old, and hated the narcissistic shallow 30 whatever year old character. Most of his chapters were most simply cringe-worthy. then, about 3/4 of the way through the book, it began to develop. Will became less hateable, Marcus became even more endearing, and Ellie was that girl almost everyone who went to high school in the 90s knew - an attitude for days and a deep love for Kurt Cobain (her name was Lee at my school). About the only thing I really got out of the book was that my decision not to force MY philosophical and political beliefs onto my child could only be a good thing. Wills growth in the book - especially in that last quarter of the book is lovely, but is it really worth sitting through the whole thing waiting for some 30 something year old man to find himself?

No. Not Really.
