I was really excited to receive an ARC of The American Heiress!

This novel was extremely enjoyable...I got into bed every night excited to continue reading. Cora was a heroine you could actually like and wanted to see do well. I felt myself wanting to shield her from her ruthless mother and hoping for only the best for her. The descriptions of the houses, of London and yes, even the clothes made for a quick, easy read.

I would probably best describe this as an "elevated" beach read. It's chick lit with a brain, basically. Add in some spectacular story telling and you have a great book that will keep your interest whether at home or on vacation this summer.

My only one minor complaint was that the ending felt a bit rushed. It went from 0-60 in about .25 seconds. However, Ms. Goodwin absolutely finished the story off beautifully!
