Torak is a little different from other people in his tribe. For one, he and his father did not live with the tribe. Another difference is Torak's connection with nature. When he was a baby his mother died so his father placed him in a wolf den where he was raised like a wolf until he was old enough to survive without a mother. This experience helped Torak to sense and understand the forest and the creatures in it. Because of this connection he is the only one who can save the forest. Along with the help a young wolf, he travels to the Mountain of the World Spirit and destroys the beasts that had been terrorizing the forest.
