Hoose does a fantastic job of telling the story of Claudette Colvin. I loved how he balanced out the writing with quotes from her as well as his own words mixed in with quotes from family and friends. I had never really heard her story before and reading this book has opened my eyes. Claudette was definitely one who needs to be remembered in history as helping with the Montgomery bus boycott. She deserves the recognition given her in this book, and Hoose does her justice.
