When I picked this book up 4 years ago, I was looking for a big book, one with lots of words so I could add it to my required reading for English class and get it the coveted million word club. I instantly loved this book, and am proud to say it is my favorite book. I could not put it down and was done in only 4 days (complete & unabridged)! Edmund is such a likable character for being hell bent on revenge, and I love his genius, biding his time to slowly strip away the greatest possessions of those that imprisoned him. This book is long and I love the intricate plot, you do not always know what to expect, there are many side stories and I love how they are utilized. They make the characters real and exciting. This is my favorite all time book, for a reason, Dumas my favorite author.
