I have a love of all things Latin American. I love Latin American politics, I love Latin American culture, I love Latin American people. So keep all of that in mind when I say I love this book. This is an outstanding modern novel about 3 generations of a Dominican Republic family. The structure of the novel is interesting and the prose is unapologetically sprinkled with Spanish. Oscar Wao is a (sym)pathetic hero. I absolutely fell in love with him.
