My guess is, if one were to compile a list of the top ten greatest books of all time, this one would make its way onto the list, no matter what over-inflated-sense-of-self type of person did the compiling.
Easily one of the most oringinal, inventive, imaginative, intense, and other positive "i" words books I've ever had the pleasure to come across.
Philip K. Dick was a master wordsmith, and a fantastic story teller, and the books he wrote are still among the best in all science fiction, though they are so much more than sci-fi.
Heinlein was a master of science fiction.
Dick was a master of writing.
His work should appeal to everyone, no matter what their traditional reading fare might be.
