Stephanie Plum is a not so average woman who lives in New Jersey. She works as a bounty hunter. She has off again on again boyfriend named Joe Morrelli who can melt your heart with a single look. She has a possible affair with her almost bounty hunter partner, Ranger who is a very hot Cuban-American.
In this book she's chasing an old man named Eddie DeChooch who is a depressed 80 year old man. At the beginning DeChooch got away from by going through his bedroom window. Then he kept on getting away from her by using a gun. She has a gun but doesn't like to use it. Her Grandma Mazaur was going with Eddie and she doesn't seem to care that he's wanted for possible murder, skipping his court date, and robbery. She tries to help Stephanie any way she can, which is basically asking questions.
Stephanie finds out that Eddie actually has something way deeper going on. Eddie was transporting stolen goods with his partner and his partner has a heart attack and dies, his boss tells him to bring his dead partner to him, but DeChooch thinks he says something else. So, Stephanie finds out what it is that he got wrong and gets messed up in a lot of stuff she didn't need.
I like how the author puts you in Stephanie's shoes. When I was reading it, I felt like I was her. Janet Evanivich is an excellent author!!
