Travis Bradberry's little book applies the theory of emotional intelligence to the workplace.

My problem with it? In the back of my mind as I read was this thought: "The people who really need to read this book are the ones who will never pick it up." The more aware someone is that s/he can use some help with relationship management, self-management, self-awareness and social awareness -- even if they're pretty strong in those arenas -- the more likely s/he will be to pick up a work like this. Those who lack the self-awareness to recognize that they are workplace bullies are going to ignore this book entirely.

That is too bad, really, because it could be an excellent adjunct to other works like Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes are High or Lead with LUV: A Different Way to Create Real Success.
