It was an interesting book. It was funny how much Phil Jackson ragged on Kobe Bryant, but apologized for Shaquille O'Neal. This book was not well-written. But, it is a quick and good read for those interested in basketball, sports, or the Lakers. Indeed, this was a tumultuous year for the Lakers with the Kobe rape allegations, Phil Jackson contract situation, beef between Kobe and Shaq, and injuries to team members including Karl Malone. It is also interesting to read about Phil Jackson's personal life because during this time he was dating the owner's daughter and the owner in the end after this season chose Kobe Bryant over Phil Jackson. Some of what was written has to be taken with a grain of salt because in the end it really was not Phil Jackson's "Last Season." He returned to the Lakers after one full season and is still currently their coach.
