A good read-alike for Diary of a Wimpy Kid fans, this book stars Danny, a boy who's making his way through middle school. He's not the most popular kid in school, but he's not doing too badly... until his name makes its way onto the infamous Loser List in the girls' bathroom. In an effort to remove his name from the list, he falls in with Axl, the school's resident bad boy. But is life on the wild side as good as it seems?

A solid little book that may draw in reluctant readers, and one I actually liked more than the Big Nate books of the same genre. Still, let's face it, the concept of the diary/drawing pad as a book is not exactly avant garde at this point, is it?
