Heaton is an excellent author when it comes to writing romantic, emotion-laden paranormal romance, and I normally love her characters. Kat, however, I could do without - the woman is inherently selfish in her initial willlingness to abandon her former lover Amon to his fate of turning rogue werewolf and dying an agonizing death without his wolf mate. That's something hard for me to get over - Kat would have to turn into Mother Teresa for me to like and respect her again.

Okay, Chapter 4 redeemed my opinion of Kat and her ruthless attitude towards Amon and his werewolfism through her embrace of her own. I will eat crow here - Kat's metamorphosis was perhaps into into Mother Teresa. This last chapter was beautifully written, and any book that can take a reader from one extreme yet opposing emotion to another in such a short time is well worth the read. Excellent ending - thank you, Heaton!
