The youngest of the Crompton heiresses, Blythe yearns to marry into the aristocracy to bolster her family’s place in society. The widowed Duke of Savoy seems to be the perfect choice, yet it’s another man who sets her heart to pounding: the new footman, James. He’s devilishly handsome and far more fascinating than any of her noble suitors. And he alone has the power to stir her romantic dreams.

Little does she know, however, James Ryding is the true heir to the Crompton fortune. He’s posing as a servant in order to find evidence to prove her parents are imposters. By charming Blythe, he hopes to use her to regain his rightful inheritance. But as heat flares between them, he realizes that fulfilling his quest will mean ruining the beautiful, spirited woman who has captured his heart.

My thoughts..

Cute funny light romance. James poses as a footman in the Compston household. He ( James )is really a Lord by birth. He starts this charade to gain information on who is impersonating his cousin who is most presumely dead but needs proof on both accounts. He goes about the household undercoving the clues he needs to solve his mystery in order to prove he is the one who is in line to inherit his cousins estates and seems to be doing a splendid job until Blythe cathes the eye of the handsome footman, It seems she is always trying to lure him into improper places no Lady she be alone with a man but a few stolen kisses only impose more problem's of James growing attraction for the young Miss. Blythe is trying to snag a Duke this season as she wants to elivate the status of herself and family. But, there are pros to this her Duke is her fathers age and then there is his daughter who thinks that she is well beneath her father and has warned her to keep away. She hasn't given up her goal yet. She enlists the help of James to lure the Dukes daughter into and alliance to keep her occupied so that she can have more time with the Duke to prove they will suit. But, concocted plans don't go as always plan. These two have had sparks for each other from the beginning and being closely enraptured in this plan has caused even bigger sparks to fly and being even harder to ingore on both parties.James feeling are becoming apparent and Blythe still has her eyes on prize but will the dashing handsome Footman win the prize or will the Duke ? Hum...... who am I rooting for. LOL. Just see how it all plays out but James is regreting ever starting this ruse as in the end of the mystery being exposed the one he loves will on be hurt in the long run and just wait for the surprise ending maybe you might have guessed from the beginning but not all is as it seems....
