A pre-cursor to the Little House on the Prairie series, this is Laura Ingalls great-grandmother. Written by Wiley, not Wilder, it still retains the same tone as the little house books. Set in Scotland, Martha Morse is an impetuous tomboy much like her descendant will also be. A sweet, fun, easy read. I'll probably pick up the other books in the series, too. Don't think (m)any of my middle school kids will, though. Good for elementary though.
