WARNING: SPOILER ALERT. This book is about a wolf that goes to great lengths to eat little goats. After being denied entrance to the little goat's hut once, he goes to the blacksmith to have his vocal pipes reforged so he sounds like their mother. Success! He tricks the little goats into letting him into their hut and eats them all, except the one that hid in the oven. Once the mother goat gets home, finds all of her goat kids gone, and hears what happens from her only surviving child, she starts plotting her revenge. She goes for a walk in the forest with the wolf, and when they come across a pit with a large fire in it, she suggests they jump over. The wolf doesn't make across and falls into the fire. Vengeance is hers! But wait! The wolf's stomach bursts open and her little goat kids jump out and into her arms! And they all live happily ever after as they had before.
