it was ok

This novel tells the story of the last 31 hours of life of a man who has decided to become a suicide bomber. It alternates between his final hours, and the contemporaneous story of his parents and girlfriend, who are growing increasingly worried about him. An interesting concept, the book was disappointing. The characters all seemed like stereotypes, and none was overly compelling. The author failed to make any of their lives interesting. I thought the depiction of the main character was particularly weak and overly beholden to stereotypes. Finally, despite the premise, the book contained very little action, and was rather boring.
