it was amazing
bookshelves: classics, favorites, read-in-school-childhood

This is hard to review... It's been a long time since I've read this book, and it might have been junior high, rather than high school when i FIRST read it, but in high school Anne's Diary really.... well, that's when reading it kind of sunk in. In high school, I was older than she was at the time of writing, going through something that made the 911 attack (which for me, had been fresh and painful) pale in comparison, and yet she had a sense of hope and belief in humanity that I couldn't even come close to. And whats most amazing, is that these were her private thoughts, not... literary... book selling... appeal to the masses.... agenda type thing. This is a must read- not just to remember the horror that happened, but to remember that even in the worst of times, there are a small few of us that are beyond decent, and we should honor that.
