really liked it
bookshelves: victorian, read-in-2011

Very enjoyable, very Downton Abbey (she's even named Cora!), with shades of the real-life story of Consuelo Vanderbilt. Although I've surely read a million books set in chilly British country homes populated by uptight aristocrats with a secret (it's a personal weakness), what set this apart were the frequent and fascinating shifts in perspective, to other minor characters.
